For the second time, we are bringing together some of the country’s leading cider producers with Pedersgata’s bars and restaurants – for great stories, engaging talks, and unforgettable tasting experiences.

FRIDAY AUGUST 21
Join us for a very special evening featuring an exclusive dinner paired with cider from three of our own region’s award-winning producers.
This evening, Veranda brings together three renowned cideries around the same table: Apal Sideri, OmCider and Eiane Sideri.
FOOD + CIDER = A PERFECT MATCH!
Throughout the evening, you will taste a total of six award-winning ciders, carefully presented by the producers themselves. Three of the ciders will be specially paired with one dish each as part of a unique three-course dinner.
TALK ON CIDER PAIRING
The evening will also include a talk by Bent O. Hansen from Norwegian Cider House on pairing food and cider.
SPECIAL MENU FROM PEDERSGATA
The three-course dinner is delivered in collaboration with Veranda’s excellent partners: AnNam, Yips and Delicatessen. Each will put their own stamp on the evening with signature dishes tailored to the flavours in the glass.

This will be a social, flavourful and educational evening where Norwegian cider takes centre stage – with a focus on craftsmanship, quality and world-class flavours.
This evening, Veranda brings together five exciting cider producers from some of the country’s most renowned cider communities: Sandalen Gard, Epli Sideri, Åkre Gård, Fuglestein Frukt & Sideri and Forbuden Frukt.
Here, you will get to experience a selection of award-winning ciders, hear the stories behind the bottles, and get to know the craftsmanship, philosophy and people behind some of Norway’s most exciting ciders right now.

There are two seatings on both the 2nd and 3rd floors at Veranda this day. In addition to choosing tastings from eight of the country's leading cideries, you'll also get an introductory course in the principles of pairing food and cider with a sommelier & pommelier.

Cider tasting with Fuglestein Frukt & Sideri at Palmen Bar, 1.00 pm

The event lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
Palmen Bar welcomes you to a morning of tasting five fine cider varieties from Fuglestein Fruktgard.
The drinks are served with suitable savoury and sweet accompaniments on the side: cured meats, flatbread, homemade apple jelly and cheese.
A representative from Fuglestein Fruktgard will be present to talk about the farm, the cidery and their production methods.
Price: NOK 750,- per pers.

Fuglestein Frukt & Sideri is run by Jon Anders, Generosa and their three children – the fifth generation on the family farm Fuglestein, which has been in operation since 1885.

This Saturday you can enjoy a delicious Cidermakers Lunch at Yips in Pedersgata 11. A representative from Apal Sideri will be present to talk about the cider that has been matched with the food.

Molinå's talented chef composes a special menu paired with cider from local producer OmCider in Hjelmeland.

DINNER AT BRAVO
Friday 21 August only
Bravo pairs its menu with cider from local producer Eiane Sideri in Jøsenfjord, putting together a match you won't want to miss.
The dinner will cost approximately

COCKTAILS WITH CIDER AT DELICATESSEN
Served on both 21 and 22 August
During the cider festival, the bar manager mixes fresh, exciting cocktails with Norwegian craft cider as the base.

Delicatessen doesn't have a special menu for the Cider Festival, but as usual they have their extensive tapas menu, and you can of course order cider with your food if you wish. Just ask the staff..

Served on both 21 and 22 August
Yips' talented chefs compose a special menu paired with cider from local producer Apal Sideri, from Hjelmeland.
A representative from Apal Sideri will be present during the dinners to talk about the ciders you're served, the production method and more.
